Puerto Dock Sud is one of Argentina’s main multipurpose ports and a strategic hub for the country’s foreign trade. Located in the Province of Buenos Aires, only 9 kilometres from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, it benefits from a privileged location and strong multimodal connectivity, linking national road and rail networks to facilitate the efficient movement of goods.
Covering 458 hectares, the port hosts a wide range of logistics and industrial activities. Its facilities include Argentina’s largest container terminal, with an annual capacity of one million TEUs, Post-Panamax vessel berths, international connections with Asia, Europe and the Americas, and feeder services. It also operates one of the country’s most important hydrocarbon complexes, with significant storage capacity, as well as public facilities for general and project cargo.
With more than 12 million tonnes of cargo handled annually—including containers, fuels, steel products, project cargo and minerals—Puerto Dock Sud is a key driver of Argentina’s logistics and productive sectors. The port is continuously modernising its infrastructure through dredging, navigation improvements and operational upgrades to enhance competitiveness, efficiency and safety.
Sustainability is a central pillar of its strategy. Puerto Dock Sud was the first port in Argentina to certify its management in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and actively promotes social responsibility, environmental protection, inclusion and community engagement.
As a member of the International Association Cities and Ports (AIVP), Puerto Dock Sud is committed to strengthening the relationship between port, city and community through innovation, sustainability and international cooperation.
