Based in Montpellier (France), Ecocean is a company specializing in ecological engineering dedicated to the restoration of aquatic biodiversity, particularly in port and urban environments.
For over 20 years, Ecocean has been developing and implementing innovative, scientifically validated solutions to enhance the ecological functions of artificial infrastructures, especially at city-port interfaces or in urban biodiversity projects. Through initiatives such as the installation of nursery habitats (Biohut® range), restocking operations using larvae from wild capture (BioRestore solution), and floating solutions (vegetated rafts), the company provides operational solutions for port authorities, local governments, and urban planners, promoting the integration of biodiversity into their projects.
In addition to its ecological restoration activities, Ecocean also offers awareness-raising initiatives (educational workshops, city-port learning trails) aimed at highlighting environmental projects and improving understanding of aquatic ecosystem challenges.
