AIVP in Boston

AIVP was in Boston (USA) from 28 to 31 October, where our organisation’s Head of International Development Anas Laani met with various stakeholders from US port cities. Anas Laani held talks with Jeanne Dasaro, Business Strategy Manager for the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity & Inclusion, to present AIVP’s work and discuss the situation at the port city of Boston. He also attended the AAPA Annual Convention & Exposition, held by the American Association of Port Authorities (one of AIVP’s partner organisations) since 2006.

Launch of the French and Spanish Editions of the Sustainable Port Cities Course Program

On Tuesday, October 8th, Bruno DELSALLE and Dr. Sabah ZRARI inaugurated the third French edition of the Sustainable Port Cities Course Program, organized by AIVP and the International Institute of Ports and Cities. The program takes place online every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 PM, from October to May, with participants from countries such as Cameroon, Canada, Congo, France, and Morocco.

AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht: Grand Jury meets

On October 10 and 11, 2024, the members of the Grand Jury for the AIVP Antoine Rufenacht Prize gathered in Le Havre to interview the six finalists of the first edition. The jury, composed of international figures such as Geraldine Knatz, Carola Hein, and Jean-Baptiste Gastinne, evaluated innovative urban and port redevelopment projects from Oslo, Tangier, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Paris. After public hearings at the Le Havre Port Center, the winner will be announced on November 27, 2024, in Lisbon, during the AIVP World Conference.

AIVP organizes Webinar on Magpie and Pioneers projects in cooperation with the Ministry of Ports…

One of the Brazilian government's priorities for the COP30 and the Agenda 2030 is the decarbonization of the transport sector. AIVP has been cooperating with the Ports Secretariat of the Ministry of Ports and Airports to share good practices from the network and the work of the members. On Thursday, October 10th, AIVP organized a new webinar focusing on the EU Green Deal projects Magpie and Pioneers.

AIVP joins final event of PULSE Project on Port Clusters

The 3rd Co-design & co-creation Event of the EU-funded project # PULSE, titled "Formulating & Processing the Port-Cluster Landscape: Strategies Brainstorming" took place in Genoa (Italy), on October 3rd-4th, 2024. AIVP has supported the PULSE Project providing information and advice and introducing the lead researcher, Dr. Beatrice Moretti, to several members of the network, relevant to the scope of the research.

Meet the finalists for the first edition of the AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht

As planned, members of the Expert Panel met in Brussels on the 6th of September to assess the 23 submitted projects for the 2024 edition of the AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht. The experts had to decide which projects should be presented in front of the Grand Jury, which will meet in Le Havre, France, on the 10th and 11th of October for the final step of the winner selection process. After intensive discussions, the experts decided to nominate 6 projects as finalists. These are: 𝐁𝐞𝐤𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐭 – 𝐁𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞, presented by the Port of Oslo (Norway) 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, presented by the Development Company for the Reconversion of Tangier Port City area (Morocco) 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐣𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬' 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥, presented by Corporación Antiguo Puerto Madero S.A. The AIVP is present at the MAGPIE Port-City Workshop in Wesel

Part of the European Horizon 2020-funded MAGPIE project’s ambition is to transfer and upscale the solutions created throughout the project. In order to do this, it is important to understand the port-city ecosystem in which the technological and non-technological tools will be placed and how they interact with other ongoing projects. This was the aim of the MAGPIE Port-City workshop which was held in Wesel (Germany) on the 17th and 18th of September 2024. Actors from MAGPIE, the Deltaport ecosystem, and the region assembled to explore the synergies between the local and international projects. The event was co-organized by the MAGPIE members, namely Deltaport, Planco GmbH, and the AIVP.
