Activities

Libreville is undergoing a transformation in its city–port relationship, shifting from a historic port toward an integrated urban and maritime system. The Port-Môle, a central hub for trade and maritime mobility, is currently being modernized to improve traffic flow and enhance passenger services.

This dynamic is part of a broader urban development project structured around the Baie des Rois, a large-scale waterfront redevelopment covering more than 40 hectares. The project aims to create a new economic, tourism, and residential hub.

The redevelopment of the waterfront and the transformation of the Port-Môle into a mixed-use area reflect a clear ambition to reconnect the city with its coastline and to capitalize on its maritime identity. Through the construction of a new ferry terminal and the reconfiguration of port spaces, Libreville is pursuing a strategy of sustainable modernization that combines economic attractiveness, urban quality, and city–port integration.
