A new step in strengthening ties between port stakeholders in Latin America was taken on April 22, 2025, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between AIVP and AAPA LATAM

AAPA Latam, the Latin American branch of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), is the main meeting point for leaders of the port community in Latin America. The organization promotes innovation, sustainability, and collaboration among all stakeholders in the sector in order to strengthen regional leadership.

This strategic collaboration aims to promote the sustainable development of port cities in Latin America through several lines of action:

  • promoting the 2030 agenda in the region,
  • mutual participation in international events,
  • developing joint initiatives

This alliance will facilitate exchanges on city-port dialogue issues and the social acceptability of port activities in regional policies, thereby contributing to more inclusive and sustainable port development.

In addition, this year’s AAPA LATAM annual conference will be held from June 24 to 27 in Lima, Peru. AIVP will attend.
