Its privileged geographical position at the mouth of the Seine and its direct connection with Lower Normandy via the Normandy Bridge, make Le Havre the metropolis of the estuary, opening onto the world. A strategic situation, 200 km from Paris, which enabled, during the Seventies, the development of a state of the art petrochemical industry but also the handling of millions of containers since the Grand Port Maritime du Havre has become the top French port for foreign trade and containers.
