In Memphis, Tennessee the Tom Lee Park located near the Mississippi river has been renovated and turned into a recreational public space for people to play, to exercise and to unwind within the lush native vegetation. The $61 million transformation project was inspired by the river which is also used as a scenic backdrop. It was essential that that all Memphians could access the park easily as it is within walking distance of some economically distressed neighborhoods. The park is meant to reopen for Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023.
