Edouard Philippe elected President of AIVP

Thursday 25 November, at the General Meeting of the Association Internationale Villes et Ports (AIVP), the Board of Directors elected Mr Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre, as its new President. Edouard Philippe officially took up his new role immediately in a brief ceremony. Edouard Philippe thanked Philippe Matthis warmly for his six years of service at the helm of AIVP. Under his leadership, the organisation embarked on a new strategy with a greater emphasis on providing a service to members, and adopted a sustainable development approach in the form of the “AIVP 2030 Agenda”.

Port of Vancouver: preserving our natural environment for generations to come

The Port of Vancouver has the ambitious goal of becoming the most sustainable port in the world. A significant part of the path towards this goal is connected to sustaining a healthy ecosystem for the local biodiversity. The port is developing a myriad of actions to protect the local species and managing the port lands and water in a sustainable way, including a broad Habitat Enhancement Program developed over the past 30 years.
