New Member Interview – Haiti National Port Authority

Haiti National Port Authority (APN) is an independent public commercial undertaking with its own distinct legal personality. It is the body responsible for operating all of the ports in the Republic of Haiti, under the authority of the Ministry of Finance & Economy (MEF). Its official role is to: provide services to vessels, shipping agents, and other port users and regulate the port sector. AIVP attends the Pointe-Noire Business Forum

On 27 September 2024, AIVP member Port Autonome de Pointe-Noire (PAPN) held a Business Forum in Paris, organised in partnership with "Les Rendez-Vous d’Afrique(s)" and the French Council for Investors in Africa (CIAN). The aim of the event was to attract investors to support the development and growth of the PAPN. By promoting its status as a deepwater port and a maritime gateway to central Africa, along with its strategic role in the regional economy, the Port of Pointe-Noire hopes to establish itself as a vital logistics hub. Bruno Delsalle, Managing Director of AIVP, took part in the round table discussion entitled ‘The ambitions of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire’, alongside Séraphin Bhalat, Managing Director of PAPN, and Évelyne Tchichelle, Mayor of Pointe-Noire.

Meet the finalists for the first edition of the AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht

As planned, members of the Expert Panel met in Brussels on the 6th of September to assess the 23 submitted projects for the 2024 edition of the AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht. The experts had to decide which projects should be presented in front of the Grand Jury, which will meet in Le Havre, France, on the 10th and 11th of October for the final step of the winner selection process. After intensive discussions, the experts decided to nominate 6 projects as finalists.
