On the 8th and 9th of November, Bilbao (Spain) will be the reference point to debate and learn how we can make ports more sustainable. The first edition of the Sustainable Port Congress will gather experts and port professionals from all over Europe and international organizations to discuss on four key topics for the future of ports:

  • Governance and Ethics
  • Health and well-being
  • Climate and Energy
  • Port and City

AIVP will be represented by Dr. José M P Sánchez, Director of the Director of the AIVP Agenda 2030, in two sessions on Wednesday the 9th. In the first one he will moderate the session “The climate change challenge: sharing answers between ports and the city” with representatives from the Basque Country, the University of Deusto and the ports of London (United Kingdom) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands). On the same day he will join the round table on Future challenges, moderated by the Maritime Sisters. The congress will count with the presence of several AIVP members, besides the ports of London and Rotterdam, such as the ports of Bilbao, Oslo (Norway) and HAROPA (France), as well as well-known experts such as Gunter Pauli, Carola Hein or Charles Landry.
