On 2 June 2026, AIVP, represented by Noémi Mené, spoke online at the round table discussion “Accelerating the transition of ports” as part of the “AI for Ocean and Coastal Territories” summit held in Biarritz. This summit is organised by Waves of Change, Ecolab of the General Commission for Sustainable Development and the International Coalition for Sustainable AI. Its aim is to facilitate the deployment of solutions integrating artificial intelligence into ocean conservation and the resilience of coastal territories. The round table on the transformation of ports aimed to present several projects likely to be funded by investors and implemented by the solution providers present in the room. These projects were to focus in particular on the use of digital data, digital twins, system interoperability and the integration of artificial intelligence. Hosted by Waves of Change and the CDRI (Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure), the session included project presentations by the Port of Bordeaux (Digital Twins of the River), the Port of Brest ( OVERHEAT Project/Port S-100) and the Port of Bayonne (overhaul of its dredging strategy). AIVP took the floor to present its approach to sharing best practices within the network, as well as the MAGPIE and SAFARI projects and their proposal for a holistic vision of port transition. This provided an opportunity to reiterate the importance of taking into account the city-port-citizen relationship when developing large-scale projects, particularly in the context of port transition, whether digital, energy-related or governance-related. This initiative forms part of AIVP’s work on the resilience of coastal cities, which has recently been bolstered by the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
