Setting Sail on a New Chapter: 1st Meeting of the 2nd Phase of the AIVP–MedCruise…

The AIVP – MedCruise Working Group on Cruises and Port Cities held the first meeting of its second phase on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, reaffirming the shared commitment of port cities and cruise stakeholders to fostering sustainable and inclusive dialogue. The meeting was conducted in a virtual format and was jointly steered by Laura Cimaglia, Vice-President of MedCruise, and José M P Sánchez, Director of the Agenda 2030 of AIVP.

AIVP Advocates for Port Cities in Blue Economy at OECD Urban Days

At the OECD Urban Days in Paris (14-17 April 2025), the International Association of Port Cities (AIVP), represented by Vice-President Alberto Cappato, contributed to the session “Spotlight on SDG 14: Life Below Water – A Territorial Approach to the Blue Economy.” The session highlighted the importance of local and regional action in promoting a sustainable blue economy, ahead of the UN Ocean Conference in June 2025.

The Port of Seville Signs the AIVP Agenda 2030, Strengthening its Commitment to Sustainability 

In a significant step toward sustainable port-city integration, the Port of Seville (Spain) has officially endorsed the AIVP Agenda 2030. The signing took place on the 5th of March during the River Port Cities Working Group meeting. Rafael Carmona, President of the Port of Seville, and José Sanchez, Director of the Agenda 2030 at AIVP, formalized the port's commitment to the initiative.
