AIVP is a partner in the European MAGPIE project, funded by the Horizon programme, which aims to develop the ports of the future, decarbonised and multimodal. Following a first exhibition launched in Le Havre in early March, Rotterdam is now hosting an interactive exhibition at Portlantis, a space dedicated to port outreach and education. Since its launch, MAGPIE has included public awareness activities to support the future uptake of its innovations. The exhibition opening featured a speech by Berte Simons, COO of the Port of Rotterdam, and Nico van Dooren, Director of Innovation. Visitors can explore five scale models: a hydrogen locomotive, an autonomous truck, an onboard smart battery, an offshore mooring tower for ship charging, and an electric container for barge loading, all enhanced with augmented reality.
