Port of Pasaia (Spain) completes port-city plan with new square

After 10 years of works, the port authority completed in July the new public square on the roof of the new fish market. The new space occupies gives more than 16000 sqm for the enjoyment of the citizens, including sitting areas and playgrounds for children.

AIVP joins debate on the port city of Maputo   

Director of the Agenda 2030 by AIVP, José M P Sánchez, participated on the 1st of September in the debate entitled “Pensar uma cidade ferro-portuária – Thinking a port and railway city”. This event was organized by the Maputo Port Development Company (Mozambique), member of AIVP network along with the city. The discussion, that counted with the participants of several local architects, focused on proposals and idea for the waterfront of Maputo and how to open the port to the city and the citizens.

Regional monitoring post Fukushima’s wastewater release

Starting August 24th, Japan will be releasing water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant over the course of the next 30 years to advance the facility’s decommissioning. Although this process has been deemed safe by international organisations, local fishers and other Asian countries have expressed worries about water quality and fish and aquaculture produce quality.

Safety training for future hydrogen projects in Strasbourg

The city and port of Strasbourg (France) are also actively partaking in increasing the use of green hydrogen in the region. The city of Strasbourg partly own the “Réseau GDS” which handles gas distribution in the region. On June 30th, the provider has inaugurated a new technical platform dedicated to Hydrogen research, training, and experimentation on the Strasbourg-Meinau Industrial Site.

With an academic background in political science, urban studies, and international cooperation, Noémi began her career by specialising in urban mobility issues. During periods of professional experience abroad (in the Netherlands and Argentina), she developed her expertise in consultancy and academic research in the field. She then spent two years with CODATU, an NGO specialised in promoting sustainable urban mobility in southern cities. While working there, she gained expertise in the area of electric mobility and gender issues in mobility.
