9th Meeting of the AIVP – MedCruise Working Group on Cruises and Port Cities

The 9th meeting of the AIVP - MedCruise Joint Working Group on Cruise and Port Cities took place last week, on the 18th of October. The meeting was moderated by Mr. José Sánchez, representing AIVP, while also counting with the inputs from Mr. Nicky Guerrero, secretary General of MedCruise, on the recent General Assembly of his organization. Following the usual structure of the working group gatherings, there was one presentation from an external guest, Prof. Thanos Pallis, and one focusing on one member, this time the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority (PNA), more concretely on the ports of Piombino and Portoferraio.

AIVP recognized with Falanto award in Taranto     

Alberto Cappato, secretary of the AIVP, received the “Falanto Awards” during the ceremony of the Taranto Port Days 2023, in southern Italy. This award was set up by the Port System Authority of the Ionian Sea - Port of Taranto to highlight personalities and companies that have distinguished themselves for their activities in favour of the territory and the Taranto community.

AIVP joins MedCruise General Assembly in Burgas

MedCruise, partner organization of AIVP, hosted a very successful 63rd General Assembly between the 10th and 13th of October in Burgas, Bulgaria. Both organizations have developed a strong cooperation over the past years, since the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2021 for the sustainable development of cruise activities in port cities.
