Another initiative launched as part of AIVP’s CSR approach  

On 9 February 2023, the AIVP, in collaboration with Carbolocal, committed to a new ecological project to plant hedgerows on agriculture land belonging to a family of farmers in Normandy.   The initiative is entirely in line with our CSR policy and will actively contribute to our climate and biodiversity objectives.

The AIVP supports the Port of Valparaiso (Chile) in the creation of its Port Center

As part of the collaboration between the Port of Valparaíso (EPV) and AIVP, José Manuel Pages Sánchez, director of the Agenda 2030 AIVP area, traveled to Chile to assist in the launch of the process of creating the Port Center of Valparaíso. EPV and AIVP will work together for 5 months to define the Port Center model that this port city requires, including issues such as the governance structure, the exhibition, or the business model.

The AIVP has officially become Strategic Partner of the Atlantic Smart Ports Blue Acceleration Network (ASPBAN), a project funded by the European Union. ASPBAN focuses on developing a dynamic acceleration platform, helping EU Atlantic ports work as blue economy hubs. A Port City Atlas for European Port City Territories

The “Port City Atlas - Mapping European Port City Territories: From Understanding to Design” is co-authored by AIVP expert Carola Hein and Yvonne van Mil and Lucija Azman-Momirski. It provides an analytical study of the complexity of port cities in Europe. The AIVP supported the creation by contacting many port and city members of the AIVP. The Atlas is prefaced by AIVP president Edouard Philippe.

AIVP and MedCruise hosted together on the 12th of December the 6th meeting of the common Working Group focusing on cruises and port cities. The group exchanged good practices and debate new policies and solutions relevant for the cruise sector aimed at reducing their impact in port cities and finding a balance relationship.

Environmental impacts and social acceptability of ports

This subject was at the centre of the intervention of Bruno Delsalle, General Manager of the AIVP, at the opening of the National Port Research Day - organised in the Senate on 9th December last, on the initiative of Professor Sophie Cros of the University of Le Havre and Professor Florence Lerique, of the University of Bordeaux. The debates centred on the question of port attractiveness, interport cooperation and coopetition.
